About this deal

Osmo Polyx Oil is the original hard wax oil a combination of natural oils and waxes for use on almost any interior project. Hard Wax Oil is almost as hard as a varnish but easier to repair. All you need is a rag apply the oil over the affected areas without having to remove any previous finish.

Occasional Maintenance: For satin sheen surfaces that have dulled slightly, refresh the surface with Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner. Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner can also help to remove stubborn shoe scuff marks for example. If the treated surface has retained colour yet there is a reduction in water repellency use Osmo Maintenance Oil. This is important to ensure the top coat remains optimal – especially in very busy areas like a door entrance for example. Osmo Maintenance Oil is thinner than regular Polyx Oil so can be used more regularly without adding too much wax and oil. Before using Osmo Maintenance Oil, damp clean the surface using diluted Osmo Wash and Care, or alternatively Osmo Spray cleaner and allow to fully dry. For small areas Osmo Maintenance Oil can be applied thinly with a lint free cloth or white pad. Remove excess product. Allow for good ventilation while drying. A small trial is highly recommended first. Resistant to wine, beer, cola, tea, fruit juice, milk and water (In accordance to DIN 68861-1A – no water spots) One thing I would avoid for at least 2 weeks it putting down any rugs, this will certainly slow down the curing process and result in a patch on you floor when in the future you come to lift the rug. Tinting: Osmo Wood Wax Finish can also be used to lightly tint Polyx®-Oil 3054 up to a ratio of 10:1. Do not exceed a ratio of 10 parts Polyx®-Oil 3054 to 1 part Wood Wax Finish. Yes, over-application of wood oil can be easily remedied by dampening a clean, lint free cloth in white spirit and wiping off the excess oil. Take care not to use too much white spirit and wipe in the direction of the wood grain. This will break down and remove the surplus oil from the surface of the wood.So when you are happy with your test areas and ready to apply. Start by giving the tin a good stir before and periodically during application to prevent inconsistencies in the finish. Then it’s as simple as loading the brush dabbing off any excess and applying thinly, working with the grain and in manageable areas. Once applied remove any excess with a microfibre cloth and leave to dry. Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw is slightly white tinted and protects lighter coloured wood species nearly invisibly. On dark, reddish or ‘smoked / fumed’ wood species, Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw is visible as slightly white chalky surface. Applying excess Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw 3044 may also lead to a white chalky surface. Remove visible white pigments before allowing the surface to dry.A trial application is recommended.

Please Note: Oiled or waxed surfaces should not be cleaned with a steam cleaner or steam mop as these will degrade or potentially strip the oiled finish. Renovation For daily maintenance, cleaning with a dry duster, floor mop or vacuum cleaner will be sufficient. For commercial premises, an electric floor polisher can be used. Ex. For Natural (no colour change from raw wood) tint Polyx-Oil with Wood Wax Finish 3111 White at 3% for the base-coat, followed by a coat of clear (untinted) Polyx-Oil as a top-coat. Regardless of the size of the project, I always prefer to get up close and personal with the Raw, using my favourite applicator the Osmo Soft Tip Brush, I like to go with a 2 inch for smaller projects but I use the beefy 4 inch for floors or large areas. Its high quality synthetic mix of bristles is great at limiting over application. The emphasis on the wood’s grain and natural characteristics provide a warm and rich effect to ensure that any interior looks luxurious and elegant. Not only suitable for wooden flooring, Osmo Polyx Oil Effect Raw - 3044 is also perfect for using on wooden doors, kitchen worktops, furniture and more.Apply a thin coat to the clean and dry surface along the wood grain with an Osmo Soft Tip Brush, Microfibre Roller or Osmo Floor Brush and spread well. Osmo Polyx Oil Raw retains the 'raw', light characteristics of untreated wood, meaning no more 'permanent wet look'. The ingredients use a small amount of white pigment to neutralise this darkening effect which generally occurs after application of a clear wood oil. The end result is a smooth beautiful finish with nearly-invisible protection. Keeps light interior woodwork and flooring looking light, ideal for Scandi-style interiors. Multi-purpose cleaners such as washing up liquids and detergents are highly detrimental to the finished surface and is not recommended to be used as discolouration or staining may be possible. A. In short, 'No'. Oiled and waxed finishes on floors are 'Micro-porous' which means that although the wood is protected, it can still breath as it is not completely sealed as it would be with a varnish. New untreated wood in its original form has a light, pale character from its natural 'raw' appearance. Sanded wood also has this effect. Osmo Polyx Oil Raw is designed to retain this appearance by using a small amount of white pigments to counteract the darker 'damp-look' that develops after application of a clear oil or varnish finish.
