There is no doubt that the ARTISAN mouse pad is of the highest quality in the world in terms of the two sensations of "stopping" and "sliding", which are inseparable for players. it's like driving a Ferrari with all it's speed and control but the steering wheel is a little uncomfortable when driving fast. Mine is the soft version and it does the same thing, so it's probably common to all their 'fancy' backing.

The ability of [insert pro CS player who ISN'T hacking lol] to destroy you with a Dell office mouse on an Ikea desk with a keyboard made out of old shoes shouldn't stop you from loving your peripherals. Over the years, they have received a strong rating among regular users and enthusiasts in the gaming community. Man, if Artisan would create a machine washable mousepad like the puretrak that would be great but then again I don't the foam backing they use could survive in a washing machine.
