As this is an adaptation of a film with such a distinctive style I want to kick off by talking about the visuals. Edward is hopeful and excited for this possibility, Megs however is worried; perhaps all isn’t what it seems?

The Final Cut’ encompasses all 10 issues from the series, which are also available as two graphic novels, ‘Parts Unknown’ and ‘Whole Again’. Metal band Motionless in White have a song entitled "Scissorhands (The Last Snow)", with its lyrics written about the film in homage to its legacy and impact on the gothic subculture. In the film, Kim leaves Edward and tells her neighbors that he and Jim, her ex-boyfriend, killed each other. When his creator dies he is left alone and unfinished with only scissors for hands until a kindly townswoman invites him to live with her suburban family. Not just because it obviously has Edward in it, but also the complete feel of the novel was almost the same for me. Witnesses accuse Edward of attacking Kevin; when Jim assaults him, Edward defends himself and injures Jim's arm before fleeing back to the inventor's mansion. Peg finds Edward alone and offers to take him to her home after discovering he is virtually harmless. The story itself is very simple, it felt super nostalgic but in some parts I had the feeling it was very disconnected from the "main" story.
