About this deal

Anyway, before you land on planets, each player must go through a series of steps during their turn. Those steps are as follows: Six new ships are added to the game including the Jumpmaster 5000 which can be upgraded to Dengar’s Punishing One, a Rogue class Porax-38 starfighter which can upgrade to Cad Bane’s Xanadu Blood, and a VCX-100 light freighter which upgrades to the Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels. Several of these ships go along with the new playable characters. The eight new character standees and cards. Who will you play as? Image by Michael Knight. In Outer Rim, players take on rogues and scoundrels such as Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Jyn Erso who must complete a variety of contracts to earn credits and build up their fame. As well as its familiar faces, the game allows players to remix elements of Star Wars lore into their own adventure, with the freedom for characters to hop into ships belonging to other characters with various companions - Han piloting Jango Fett’s Slave I with an unshot Greedo by his side, for example.

The original bounty tokens in the main game were green and yellow and only accessible when you land on planets. Now, Unfinished Business puts the third token in play with an orange token that is only accessible when you land on a planet because it lies on a planet. The original two tokens laid beside the planet, but this one guarantees an encounter of some sort when you land on a planet. It still hides the tokens, in case you’re hunting a bounty, but it makes the token discovery experience far less empty. I only say empty because I didn’t know how good it was until it was included. The more bounties and potential crew, the better. If I had to complain about something, it would be the amount of table space this game requires. I have a long IKEA table and it took a good chunk of space on it. My recommendation is to play this on a round table. It will work far better. This is my only complaint and honestly, it’s probably my fault for not having a variety of tables for the house. Whilst characters that could only be interacted with are now playable in Unfinished Business, previously playable characters included in the core game can now be encountered within the expansion. The likes of Boba Fett and Han Solo are recruitable characters in Unfinished Business, providing new benefits to a spaceship’s captain. In the new expansion, whenever a bounty is placed on another player’s character the player who revealed that bounty can enter into combat with the targeted player to gain the associated rewards.

Daring Outlaws

Traveling across the Core can save you a lot of time, but it also comes with some risk. The Core Worlds are under the control of the Empire, and if you have negative reputation with the Imperials, then you can expect some difficulty when flying across the Core. Familiar Faces But for those looking for something new in this expansion, the ambitions hit the mark. These are great for new players who might not be totally sure what they should do at the start. Each ambition will nudge you in a specific direction of who your character will be. Some will have you focused on bounty hunting, some collecting powerful gear, while others will have you trying to be the best smuggler in the rim. While I enjoyed these, I’m not sure I’d play with them all the time. They were cool in that they gave the end game a climactic feel. However, you are definitely pigeonholed by the kind of character you play during the game. If you drew the Crime Lord ambition, then you won’t be wasting time hauling cargo or hunting bounties. So if you’d prefer to keep the open world feel and make your way as you go, then you’d probably leave the ambitions in the box.

Another major addition in Unfinished Business is the introduction of the Core Worlds to the game board. An example of an ambition sheet. If the player completes all four objectives on this sheet, they win the game! Encounter Step – If you don’t encounter anyone willingly, such as trying to secure a bounty, or you haven’t run into an organization along the space road that would fight your ship, then you must do another encounter via a Navpoints card. This card proposes a situation, and you must conquer said situation or pay the price. You will never end this three-step process without an encounter, so don’t try to weasel your way out.As we mentioned in an article last week, KeyForge is going on hiatus with a planned relaunch alongside a digital version of the game in the future. In the In-Flight Report, we gave a sneak-peek at the game’s sixth set, Winds of Exchange. If you have an empty shelf on your Kallax, have no fear. Foundations of Rome will fill it up. Surprisingly worthy of its box size, Foundations of Rome comes fully loaded with dual-layered boards, chunky pieces, and impressively detailed ancient Roman building miniatures. If that’s not enough, you can upgrade to get metal coins, a first player statue, a playmat, and more. All of this comes with an organizer that makes set-up a breeze. The table presence of this game will wow anyone walking by and playing it feels just as good as it looks. Looking for less? There’s a rumor of a re-theme with all cardboard pieces coming at the end of 2023. These tokens are ok. I never really found myself trading and negotiating that much when I played. There is very little incentive to help your opponents as you’re basically helping them beat you. I’m happy they are here though as it does give you that extra option to help get out of a tight spot you find yourself in. First and foremost is a spread of new ships, such as the scrappy Rogue -Class Porax-38 Starfighter and the rebellious VCX-100 Light Freighter If all the new things to see and goods to grab aren’t enough for you, then you’ll be happy to know that Unfinished Business also gives you lots of new things to do. For starters, a pile of new interactive jobs, such as Honest Robbery Sail Barge Sabotage Rebel Traitor
