I started by asked my anonymous group of students how this phrase made them feel. Interestingly enough, I noticed a trend; the students that had Netflixed and chilled didn’t think that it was awkward or creepy while those who hadn’t would be “creeped out” or “offended” if they were asked to Netflix and chill. One student even claiming if she was asked to Netflix and chill she would kindly ask them to “f**k off and buy me food/drink instead,” claiming that it was just an excuse for “when a date is too poor/lazy, they will invite you over in hopes of getting in your pants.”
